Selling Your Car? Here Is What You Need to Know
If you are selling a registered vehicle in Victoria, you are required by law to provide the buyer with a roadworthy certificate that is no more than 30 days old at the time of sale. You will also need a Registration Transfer form, which is available through VicRoads. We can issue the certificate; the transfer paperwork is handled separately through VicRoads.
If you are selling a vehicle as unregistered, no roadworthy certificate is required, but the buyer takes on responsibility for registering it themselves.
